How Many Sessions Will I need?

This is dependent on several factors and every person and case is unique:

  1. The presenting issues

  2. The historical issues

  3. The complexity of the issues

  4. Readiness for change

  5. Application of techniques, therapy and homework in between sessions

How Long Until I See Results?

Results are dependent on all of the issues stated in the previous question. The Consultation is only just under 60minutes and then you have the rest of the hours and minutes in your life to work with – what you do with this time is up to you.

Just like medication is not a miracle fix or instant quick fix, neither is therapy! You have to want to change and want to do the work outside of the session, to make it work. Therefore, the results and the speed at which you improve is up to you – not your therapist! Your therapist is there to give you tools. new skills and new perspectives but when you walk out of the door and into your life, you are like a toddler who is learning to walk. If you don’t keep getting up and practising the new skill you have just learned you will not become good at it and you will never learn how to walk, on a different path. When toddlers learn how to walk, they fall down a lot but each time they fall down, they get back up and try again. If you fall down and don’t get up and try again, you will fail and never learn to walk a new path.
